I think my Music Teacher is flirting with me?

I am a 9th grade guy and my music teacher always talks to me in a weird way. She always puts her hand on my shoulder and she rubs them sometimes and I never see her do it to other students. She only does it when we are somewhat alone and she tells me that i have so much potential. She is a very gorgeous teacher and i don't know what to think about it. Is she flirting with me or just being nice?

I think you are fantasizing.

How much do private music teacher’s make?

So my voice teacher told me she makes 25 an hour and they take part of it. She does lessons at home and goes to "Musicstop" where i take my lessons once a week. My guitar teacher said he makes enough to have a happy life. I want to get a bachelors in music and teach private lessons. How much do you think they make a year?

It depends on what you teach, how good you are, and most of all, how many students you can get.

If you can work as much as a person with a regular 9-5 does (40 hours a week), then you'll end up with a decent $50 000+. That is, assuming you charge 25$ an hour and you have at least 40 students.

It varies a lotttt though. I don't know that's regular for voice teachers, but 25$ an hour seems a bit low to me. That's only 5 bucks more than what my students pay me and I'm 16 lol. The more you can charge, the less students you need.

My teacher auditions her students lol. That can be a part of it too. Pick good students, and you'll get a good rep and lots of parents calling you after your students do well at music competitions and recitals :)

Would an ankle tattoo be okay for a music teacher?

I've been thinking of getting the "one ring" text on my ankle from Lord of the Rings for many years now. As many of you know, it's a very pretty and elegant text. I'm also on my way of becoming a music teacher. Do you think this would be a bad place to get it? Yes, pants would cover up most of the time but I'm mostly concerned about sandal days. Remember this is also music education - a less strict environment where kids are basically distracted by their instruments from start to finish. Any opinions?

I teach elementary school. I have a tattoo on the top of my foot that is kind of big and I use I band aids when I need to cover it for professional situations.

I believe that once you are established in a school system you can find out of from other teachers and your principal what is appropriate.

Otherwise, go for it. It is easy to cover even if it isn't allowed.

How do i go about becoming a Music Teacher?

I would like to become a Music teacher but not sure how to go about it, will i have to go to uni to study teaching or music because i have not seen a course which fulfills both.
thanx

I'm assuming you are in Europe because you said uni, and it may be different there, but here in the U.S. you study music and one of the options within that is music education (as opposed to composition or performance).

Why do people think that music teacher is a bad career?

Everyone i know thinks that being a music teacher is a bad idea. everyone but my uncle who was going to be one.

I love music and that is my lifetime dream. My parents dont understand why i want to be one. and then they use it as a guilt trip when i dont practice my guitar for a day.

why is being a music teacher such a "worthless career" that "only failures consider" ??
of course im going to follow my dreams. I was just wondering why it was considered a waste of life.

I say it's cultural brainwashing. Parents either think their kids should relive their parents lives step by step ("What, being a chicken plucker isn't good enough for my son?") or they want them to have a career that they see on TV every night ("What's wrong with being a lawyer doctor cop?")

The world needs music teachers. Heck, it needs poodle groomers, guy who recap tired for a living and sous chefs. Do what you're good at, do what you like, and don't listen to anyone else. Promise?

Do you enjoy being a Primary School Music Teacher?

As a primary school music teacher, would you recommend your profession as a career change? I am a 34yr old female who has a strong musical background, a natural affinity with children and a need for meaning and creativity in my profession. I have been in the mining industry for 13yrs and now find the lack of meaning and satisfaction intolerable. All advice will be gratefully received.

I loooove teaching music in the elementary schools. I really like it because you're not the kids' regular teacher. For them, it's always a treat when you come into the room, because they get to take a break from doing math and science. They love to see you, there are SOOOO many activities you can do with them, and typically the teacher stays in the room, so you let them deal with disciplining! It's awesome :D

How can I become a Music Teacher in BC ?

Hi, I'm thinking to get a degree or certificate in music teacher in Vancouver. But where? how??
I majored in music(piano) from a university from other country. Am I qualified enough to enter the music education, UBC or any other university? Is there any other ways to be a music teacher in BC?
Thank you for your time to answer me. ;)

I would think as in the US you need a degree in music education. Check your local schools to find it. It is not rare, but good programs can be hard to find outside larger universities. You will need to audition.
